Musical Director
The current
Musical Director of The Easingwold Singers is Dr Roger Tebbet MA DPhil
GRSM
ARCM DipEd, Musical Director of Selby Abbey. Dr Tebbet has been the Musical
Director of
The Easingwold Singers since 1994.
Dr Roger
Tebbet was educated at Monmouth School, the Royal College of Music, the
University of Reading, the University of York and privately with Dr Melville
Cook, Dr Francis
Jackson, Clifton Helliwell and Elizabeth Altman. In addition to his work
as Organist and
Musical Director of Music at Selby Abbey, he teaches in the Music Department
of the
University of York , at the Leeds College of Music and is Rehearsal Accompanist
of the
University of York Choir.
As an
organ recitalist he has played at Selby Abbey, Wakefield Cathedral, Bridlington
Priory,
Doncaster Parish Church, Halifax Parish Church, the Lyons Concert Hall
of the University of
York, Saint-Eustache, Paris, the Cathedral of Saint-Etienne, Meaux and
in Germany,
Dr Tebbet
has had articles published in Organists Review and the Royal College of
Music
Magazine and has contributed reviews for Choir and Organ.

hear Dr Tebbet playing part of Charles-Marie Widor's Symphony No 5 in
F Minor,
Op 42 No 1, the Toccata: Allegro, on the Hill organ at Selby Abbey at
